Aaron Carey

Psychology Assistant

Aaron (he/him) brings many years of hands-on leadership experience in the Mental Health and Addictions sector. He is passionate and knowledgeable about mental health. Aaron currently supports our work with organisations in the areas of data collection and analysis, and workshop facilitation.

Aaron is currently undergoing post-graduate qualifications in psychology and works with us as a psychology assistant. Aaron has worked in the field for nearly two decades, including in senior leadership positions for one of Aotearoa’s largest NGO’s and holding board positions for charitable organisations. He has featured in the New Zealand Geographic and Stuff.co.nz. 

Aaron has an uplifting and relaxed facilitation style that our workshop attendees love. Much of Aaron’s career has focused on designing and running trainings and services that help people to identify early signs of mental distress and enable those individuals to take action to improve their wellbeing. 

When he isn’t on the job, Aaron likes contemplating stoic philosophy and eating ice cream sandwiches. Aaron is based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
