Alexa (she/her) is an experienced clinician supporting individuals and groups, including offering ADHD and autism diagnostic assessments, professional supervision, and brief psychological support sessions. Alexa has special interests in neurodivergence, mental health, psychological trauma, and forensic psychology.

Alexa draws from many years of experience in the mental health and wellbeing sector. Her expertise cover a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, such as CBT, EMDR, and solution-focused therapy. Alexa also conducted research with Massey University into non-verbal indicators of emotion, exploring how training and experience can enhance the recognition of emotional expression.

 

Alexa has worked for the Department of Corrections, ACC, and with the Royal Commission of Inquiry into abuse in state care, providing wellbeing support to survivors during investigations.

​

Alexa's style is warm, authentic, and compassionate. She takes a strengths-based and holistic approach to her mahi (work), and is sensitive to the effects of trauma.

​

When she's not working, Alexa loves spending time with her grandchildren, dogs and cats. She also loves travel and yoga. Alexa is based in Levin, Horowhenua.
