Anoek brings over 20 years of invaluable expertise to the forefront of mental health care and working with neurodivergent adults. In her approach to psychiatry, Anoek embodies a commitment to excellence, compassion, and innovation. Her special interests include ADHD and psychological trauma.
Anoek is the Founder and Director of Nova Mentem, who have partnered with MindMatters Clinic to deliver gold-standard clinical support to organisations and individuals across Aotearoa New Zealand.
With a holistic approach underpinning her practice, Anoek strives to empower individuals on their journey towards mental wellness, fostering resilience, and promoting lasting positive change.
Anoek was previously Medical Director for Mental Health and Addiction Services at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep commitment to advancing mental healthcare delivery. She has worked across mental health inpatient and outpatient services, child and adolescent psychiatry services, and emergency mental health services.
Back home, Anoek gets creative with a needle and some yarn, creating the next colourful garment she wants to try out. Anoek is based in Hawke's Bay (Te Matau-a-Māui).
