Alexa (she/her) is an experienced clinician offering ADHD, autism, and AuDHD (combined autism and ADHD) diagnostic assessments, professional supervision and individual support sessions. Alexa's special interests include neurodivergence, mental health, psychological trauma and forensic psychology.

​

In her adult assessments for autism and ADHD, Alexa is particularly experienced in working with people whose neurodivergent traits are more internal and less obvious from the outside. She takes a trauma-informed approach as standard, drawing on extensive experience supporting people affected by trauma.

​

Alexa draws on many years of experience across the mental health and wellbeing sector, with expertise in a range of evidence-based psychological approaches including CBT, and EMDR therapy. Alexa also conducted research with Massey University into non-verbal indicators of emotion, exploring how training and experience can enhance the recognition of emotional expression.

​

Alexa's professional experience includes working with the Department of Corrections, ACC, and the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care, where she provided wellbeing support to survivors during investigations.

 

Alexa’s style is warm, authentic and compassionate. She takes a strengths-based and holistic approach to her mahi (work).

 

Outside of her mahi (work), Alexa loves spending time with her grandchildren, dogs and cats. She also enjoys travel and yoga. Alexa is based in Levin, Horowhenua.

 

Alexa can offer in-person appointments on special request in Levin or Palmerston North.
