Amber (Ngāti Whakaue; she/her) is an exceptional Clinical Psychologist on our team. Based in Tauranga, Amber specialises in adult ADHD, autism, and AuDHD (combined autism and ADHD) assessment.
Amber has a calm and gentle approach to her work. She takes a holistic view of wellbeing and draws on her experience across both public and private settings, including developmental psychology, physical health settings, and her experience in the areas of anxiety, depression, psychological trauma, and loss.
Amber's doctoral research focused on Māori whānau and their experiences of trauma, exploring ways of coping, barriers to coping, and how resilience can emerge even through profound experiences of loss. This research continues to inform Amber’s thoughtful and culturally responsive approach to psychological practice.
Outside her mahi (work), Amber loves pilates and yoga, spending time with her husband, kids and dog, being out in nature, and relaxing at home. She also enjoys watching reality TV, her guilty pleasure!
Amber can offer in-person appointments on special request in Mount Maunganui.
